Commvault offers flexible licensing approaches for acquiring software in order to accommodate your organization's specific needs and goals, and to simplify the purchasing process.
Traditional agents and options
Pay for perpetual use of discrete capabilities, usually on a per server, application, or backup platform basis. This approach can be a fit for data environments that are well defined and don't change much over the life cycle of the infrastructure. If you are currently using this approach and interested in converting to a Capacity License Agreement, please speak with your sales representative for more details.
Capacity License Agreement (CLA)
This usage-based approach is typically measured by the front-end capacity being protected or archived. With the CLA, you maintain a perpetual use license for a nearly unlimited range of enterprise class capabilities. This approach gives you the flexibility to significantly change scope, scale and protection methods with little license management burden or added cost.
Regardless of the approach you choose when deploying your Commvault solution, you will gain the unparalleled benefits of our single-platform software, including the ability to:
- Easily track and monitor license consumption with intuitive management tools
- Gain visibility into capacity and growth through usage and trending dashboards
- Increase operational efficiency and aid in strategic decision-making with integrated, comprehensive reporting
Managed Service Provider (MSP) subscription
Commvault software is also available through managed service providers. With this model, qualified providers have the ability to use a wide range of software features and capabilities according to a subscription agreement. Service providers are billed for actual monthly usage instead of receiving a perpetual-use license and each provider must maintain minimum eligibility requirements. This way you get the benefits of software and cloud storage in one place from one vendor. See list of authorized MSPs.
